 CA Industries is the non-profit business arm of the Mercer County Board of Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities. Located in Celina, Oh. (west central, 1 hr. north of Dayton , 1 hr. southeast of Ft. Wayne In.) CA Industries was incorporated in 1972 with a mission to provide expanded and meaningful employment opportunities for Mercer County residents affected with a wide variety of disabilities. In 1992 CA Industries opened CA Employment Services with a mission to provide integrated community jobs for people with barriers to regular employment.  The primary vehicle CA uses to provide employment is our workshop. In the workshop environment CA employees perform a number of services for local companies. CA employees also work in local companies in the form of mobile work crews or enclaves. In addition to the contract labor operations, CA has begun manufacturing some products of our own. In 1999 CA released “Shelby The Unique Sheep”. Shelby is a plush beanbag toy who comes complete with a story tape about a green sheep that learns that sometimes it’s great to be different! In 2000, CA released the “SpeedyGlide” wooden scooter for kids aged 2-7. (see related links to purchase) CA Industries also operates businesses outside the workshop. In Jan. of 2001 CA opened CA Bicycle Sales & Service in Coldwater, Ohio. CA Bicycle Sales & Service is a full service bicycle shop featuring new bikes, used bikes, parts, accessories and all types of repair and service. In spring of 2001 CA Lawn & Maintenance Service was begun marketing lawn care and maintenance for both residential and commercial customers. Developing our own products and businesses will allow CA Industries to offer people with disabilities real jobs that pay living wages. Expanding opportunities, possibilities and quality of life for our employees is the long- term goal of CA Industries. |
